Modular Radio Architecture Workshop

The workshop will review three topics: a) the Modular Radio Architecture (MRA) white paper being developed by the Forum, b) SCA Architectural Changes to support C5ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) and c) Waveform Card Specification.

• The white paper is a product describing potential WINNF contributions to the MRA effort. The scope of those contributions may include technical SME insights, prototyping or considering and incorporating modifications to the WINNF standards.
• WINNF’s long term SCA involvement positions it as an authority to initiate the discussion relative to SCA impacts that might occur as part of a closer integration with CMOSS and SOSA. Those initiatives are based upon the Victory data bus standard which differs substantially from the transports traditionally used in SCA implementations.
• The US Army desires a specification to allow interoperable waveform cards within a CMOSS chassis. The workshop will leverage the domain knowledge of the WINNF community to discuss current industry trends and standardization efforts. Another key input will be the attendee’s perspective on the appropriate level of abstraction for a card standard.
